SnapRegister uses artificial intelligence ("AI") technologies to help users catalog and register their products. This disclosure explains how we use AI, what data is processed, and your rights regarding AI-generated content.
AI-Powered Extraction
We use AI to extract product information from images you upload, including text, serial numbers, and model identifiers.
No Training on Your Data
Your uploaded content is never used to train AI models. Your data remains private and is used only to provide the service.
Secure Processing
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
Human Oversight
You always have the ability to review, edit, or delete AI-generated content associated with your products.
1. How AI Is Used
SnapRegister uses AI for the following purposes:
- Image Analysis: Extracting visible text and identifying product details from uploaded photos
- OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Reading serial numbers, model numbers, and other printed information
- Product Identification: Matching product images against known manufacturer databases (when applicable)
- Form Assistance: Pre-populating registration forms based on extracted data
2. AI Providers
We may use one or more third-party AI service providers, including but not limited to:
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- Google Cloud Vision
All providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose of delivering the requested service and are prohibited from using it for model training or other purposes.
3. Data Handling
- Your images are not stored by AI providers. They are processed in real-time and discarded after analysis.
- Your data is not used for training. Neither SnapRegister nor our AI providers use your images or extracted data to train machine learning models.
- Data is encrypted. All transmissions to and from AI services are encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
4. Accuracy and Limitations
AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate. Common limitations include:
- Difficulty reading blurry, damaged, or poorly lit images
- Misidentifying characters (e.g., confusing "O" with "0")
- Incomplete extraction if text is partially obscured
Important: Always verify AI-extracted information before using it for warranty claims, insurance purposes, or legal matters.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Review all AI-generated data associated with your account
- Edit or correct any inaccuracies
- Delete AI-generated content at any time
- Request that your data not be processed by AI (note: this may limit service functionality)
6. Human Review
In certain cases, SnapRegister employees may review AI outputs to improve service quality, debug issues, or respond to support requests. Such reviews are conducted under strict confidentiality policies and access controls.

We may update this disclosure as our AI capabilities evolve. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
