• Validate warranty registrations by reading manufacturer confirmation emails (when you grant email access)

3. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Third-Party APIs

SnapRegister uses third-party artificial intelligence services to process user-uploaded images for the limited purpose of extracting product information (such as text or serial numbers).

• User data is not used to train AI models
• Data is transmitted securely to AI service providers
• Processing is limited to performing the requested service
• AI providers are contractually restricted from using data for unrelated purposes

4. Optional Email Account Access

SnapRegister offers an optional feature that allows you to connect a Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account for the sole purpose of automatically validating product warranty registrations. This feature requires your explicit consent and is entirely optional.

What We Access

If you choose to connect your email account, we will:

• Search your inbox for warranty registration confirmation emails sent by product manufacturers
• Read those specific emails to extract warranty details (start date, expiry date, coverage type, confirmation number)
• Link the extracted data to the corresponding registered product in your SnapRegister account

What We Will NOT Do

• Read, store, or access any emails unrelated to product warranty or registration confirmations
• Share your email content with third parties (other than AI processing described in Section 3)
• Send emails on your behalf
• Access your contacts, calendar, or other account data
• Store full email bodies — only extracted warranty metadata is retained

Access Scope and Revocation

Email access is granted via OAuth 2.0 with read-only permissions (Gmail: gmail.readonly; Microsoft: Mail.Read). You may revoke access at any time from your SnapRegister Settings page or directly from your Google Account or Microsoft Account security settings. Revoking access does not delete previously extracted warranty data already stored in your SnapRegister account.

Consent and Legal Basis

Email access requires your explicit, informed consent presented at the time of connection. You will be shown a clear description of what access is requested before any OAuth authorization screen appears. This consent can be withdrawn at any time by disconnecting the email account from your settings.

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including:

• Encryption in transit and at rest
• Restricted access controls
• Secure hosting infrastructure
• Periodic security reviews

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

• Provide the Service
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes
• Enforce our agreements

Users may delete product data or close their account at any time.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.
